She is vain enough to think she is beautiful, especially with the rainbow fins that reflect light to create rainbows. There are times when flares of rage and angry, stemmed by frustration and pain, happen and the seas become violent and cruel. These incidents are far and few in between and hint at the deeper power of her kind. She has the ability to sing underwater and sings to the oysters of which to make beautiful pearls. Perle Seashell is only sure of one thing - her name. Everything else has since faded from memory, stemming from an ancient attack that left her with memory loss and loss of long-term memories. To this day, she often struggles to remember things that often surface in her dreams but as of yet, remain elusive.
The only joy in her life is when she finds a pearl. A pearl stirs old memories, fuzzy but happy, so she collects them in hopes of finding out who she is. In all of her travels, she has never met any of her kind but she has met plenty of those from land. Often those who take to the seas for traveling or fishing, or those who reside at the edges of land looking out into the ocean waters. She flees from most, since she frightens the majority of other beings. Time to time, other ponies will think she is 'overboard' only to be blown away by the elegant mermaid tail.
The only fear that she knows is of the terrible, horrible, frightening Kraken, a creature that feeds on her kind. She keeps closer to the land where she is less likely to be hunted down.
